June 2021 Newsletter

Greetings Yogie and Friends Fans!

June is already here. Where has this year gone? We are already halfway into 2021.

GIVE FOR GOOD: We want to thank everyone who donated and made our Give for Good giving day a success. We appreciate you very much.

LILY: We mentioned Lily in the last newsletter and her having intestinal lymphoma. We are sad to announce that she has crossed the rainbow bridge. Lily had dropped almost half of her body weight. It is always a difficult decision for us, but her little body was so tired, and we knew it was the kindest thing to do. She was a sweet girl who will be deeply missed. Lily (19 March 2006 – 20 May 2021).

CRITICAL NEED: Right now, we are in urgent need of food and cat litter and have found the easiest way to get these items is through CHEWY We have set up our Chewy wish list and here is the link to order items off the wish list for our cats. They ship the items directly to the sanctuary in Frierson and they are very fast. Items have arrived as fast as two days for items they have in stock. It is a great program to help the cats.

MEDICAL ISSUES:

Munch our cat with nasal cancer, has been walking with a slight list to the right, so our director brought her in to see Dr. Core. She has a large buildup of cells and wax that is being treated. She is having Cerumene solution in her ear twice a day, as well as received a steroid shot behind her ear. She is still doing very well despite her cancer, and this current ear situation. She has amazed us all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY: For those of you who followed Claire and her kittens on Facebook, well, the kittens are turning one year old on June 2nd. We adopted three of the kittens out, but still have Claire, and her babies, Bonnie and Yakov. Happy 1st Birthday to our Weebles.

An update on our director. She completed her radiation treatment on May 19th. The doctor said she did much better than many and tolerated the treatment without any need to stop due to burns. This is a good thing. So, after 16 chemo treatments, and 33 radiation treatments, she is happy to report that all treatment is done! She feels blessed and fortunate that she found her tumor while it was still stage 1. She knows that not everyone is that fortunate and it is not taken for granted. Her hair is growing in and looks like she has a little Mohawk right now. Lol! But it is all good. She appreciates all the prayers.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

NEEDS AND RESOURCES:

AMAZON WISH LIST: We have updated our Amazon wish list; with our most needed food items and cat litter. Also, when you shop via Smile.Amazon.com you can select Yogie and Friends as your charity of choice and they will donate a percentage of the sales to us. It is an extremely easy way to help.

PAYPAL: Did you know you can do automatic monthly donations to Yogie and Friends via PayPal? This is an easy and effective way to help our fundraising for the animals. You can also choose to pay the fees by selecting the Friends and Family option in PayPal ensuring we would receive the entire amount of your donation. Our PayPal is: yogieandfriends@hotmail.com

SPONSORSHIP:  Sponsorship is a great way to help support our cats. By sponsoring one of our Yogie cats you will be providing food, medical care, and their basic care and support. 100% of the sponsorship goes to the care of these animals. If each cat had a regular, monthly, sponsor, it would help ease the burden of care for the animals we provide sanctuary for. Please consider sponsoring one of our animals.  The cats really need you.

Please note that more than one person may sponsor a cat but rest assured that all sponsor funds are used for the ongoing care of our cats.

You can sponsor a cat for just $15 a month, $45 a quarter, or $180 a year.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT: Your donations are the most important thing to help us with our animals. We are a 501(C)(3) non-profit, in good standing. Your donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. We can really use help with funds to buy food, veterinarian care, and everyday care of the wellbeing of the animals. Thank you for your support.

We are spending about $2000 a month on food and litter.
