Greetings Yogie Fans!
We hope you all had a safe, and blessed, Thanksgiving holiday! Can you believe Christmas is fast approaching? Where has this year gone?
YOGIE DAY AT BELLA NONNAS: We want to thank those of you who came out to Bella Nonnas Olive Oil and Vinegar bar. The owners donated a portion of that day’s sales to us, and we appreciate them for their support. We are also happy to encourage our fans to support small, local, businesses like theirs. It is a win, win for all. Thank you again!
TACO: On November 18th, our director went out to feed our catio cats and she sadly found one of the cats, Taco, dead. There were no signs of trauma, and no warning signs of any illness. It was a total shock to find him like that. When she picked him up, she heard a slight sigh, but we know it is some air that remains in the lungs shortly after death, still, she rushed him to the vet in the hope he may still be alive. Sadly, he was not. She looked through all the cameras and checked all angles of Taco’s movements. For some odd reason there was an eight second gap of no recording on ANY of the cameras. We do not know why. He had been gone maybe five minutes at most when she found him. It was heartbreaking. Taco was only seven years old. R.I.P. Sweet Taco.
FERAL CAT HOUSES: We received two feral cat houses and they have been put to good use on the property. The weather has been a rollercoaster, but no matter, the feral cats have nice shelter from rain, snow, cold, and whatever elements prevail. Thank you for that.
We could still use a few more feral cat houses for the property, and we left the Wishlist link below for that.
If you would like to help contribute, or purchase one, two, or more, you can find them on our Amazon wish list. Or anywhere you can find them for a better price.
VET ISSUES: Update on Chloe, Finn, and Anastasia. Finn had to have an upper G.I. scope. Fortunately, there was no cancer on the biopsies, but he will be on Tylosin to hopefully keep him feeling better. He still has some vomiting, but thankfully no more diarrhea. We can tell he is not feeling 100% and we hope he improves after time on the medicine.
Chloe had to be hospitalized overnight for kidney insufficiency. They kept her on fluids, and she is feeling much better. She is twenty years old, and we know issues like this happen with age.
Anastasia has also been placed on Tylosin in hopes it takes care of her vomiting. She is not as ill as the others, and we do not want her to become ill either.
Flynn, our sweet little black kitten we found this summer has been fighting a severe upper respiratory infection, but we are happy it is not FIP like Miracle succumbed to.
We have several cats on special prescription diets. These are expensive, but they are better than having vet bills. We are going to put the other cats on a urinary health diet, but not prescription, in the hopes it will help stave off any future issues with other cats.
We buy Royal Canin Urinary S/O, at $99.99 a 17.6-pound bag. Royal Canin Ultamino at $63.99 a 5.5-pound bag. Royal Canin Glycobalance at $36.99 a 4.4-pound bag. This is for Pete, and it has been successful in keeping him off insulin. These are all prescription diets, but they are working as they should, so in the long run prescription food versus vet bills. This does not include tax. Being a non-profit does not mean we do not have to pay sales tax.
We have several cats on lifetime meds as well,
FOOD AND LITTER: The need here is constant. You can always help with our Amazon, or Chewy, wish lists. Chewy tends to cost less than Amazon.
Cash donations are ever more important for us. Or you can donate using one of the following methods:
And as always, you can mail a check or money order to: Yogie and Friends, 128 Fob Lane, Frierson, LA 71027.
KROGER COMMUNITY REWARDS: Attention Kroger Shoppers. We have been part of the Kroger Community Rewards program for well over 15 years, but they made some changes to their program, and we want to update our fans who happen to shop at Kroger Grocery Stores. Our Kroger Community Rewards number is now GD567, and you can find us by our name as well, Yogie and Friends FIV Positive Cat Sanctuary. When you log into your Kroger account you can select us as your charity of choice and a portion of your purchase will be donated to our rescue sanctuary. This is one of the easiest ways to help us financially when you go grocery shopping. It takes nothing out of your pockets either. How cool is that?
Please consider helping our cats when you shop at Kroger. We deeply appreciate your help.
SPONSORSHIP: We often speak of our sponsorship program and right now we are really trying hard to get all our cats sponsored. Sponsorship is a wonderful way to help support our cats. By sponsoring one of our Yogie cats, you will be providing food, limited medical care (we know that medical bills can get extremely high and do not expect a sponsor to cover it. Unless they can, and want to), and their basic care and support. 100% of the sponsorship goes to the care of these animals. If each cat had a regular, monthly, sponsor, it would help ease the financial burden of care for the animals we provide sanctuary for.
Please note that more than one person may sponsor a cat but rest assured that all sponsored funds are used for the ongoing care of our cats.
You can sponsor a cat for just $15 a month, $45 a quarter, or $180 a year. You can always contribute more. It all helps a great deal.
If you choose to sponsor a cat via PayPal or Venmo, please let us know the name of the cat you would like to sponsor.

You can also choose to pay the fees by selecting the Friends and Family option in PayPal ensuring we would receive the entire amount of your donation. Our PayPal is: email@example.com
FINANCIAL SUPPORT: Your donations are the most important thing to help us with our animals. We are a 501(C)(3) non-profit, in good standing. Your donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. We can really use help with funds to buy food, veterinarian care, and everyday care of the wellbeing of the animals. Thank you for your support.
We are spending about $5000 a month on food and litter alone. Then we have vet bills and other incidentals that come up creating an immediate need.
